Palmer & Sicard Joins the Linc Service Network

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

ABM (NYSE:ABM), a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, announced that its subsidiary ABM Franchising Group, LLC, has signed a franchise agreement with Palmer & Sicard, a full-service mechanical contracting company in New Hampshire. Palmer & Sicard becomes ABM Franchising Group’s first franchise in New Hampshire.

ABM Franchising Group, a portfolio of franchise networks that deliver mechanical and electrical service and preventive maintenance solutions to commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, consists of four franchise brands: Linc Service, GreenHomes America, TEGG, and CurrentSAFE. Palmer & Sicard will operate under the Linc Service franchise brand.

“Palmer & Sicard’s wealth of experience and drive for success combined with our proven system will propel them beyond the competition,” said Bert Kendall, Chief Operating Officer of ABM Franchising Group. “We are thrilled to have Palmer & Sicard join ABM Franchising Group and look forward to their continued success.”

Founded in 1954, Palmer & Sicard has grown throughout the past half century from a modest two-man operation to a full-service mechanical contracting firm with over 70 employees. 2012 marked their 10-year anniversary as an employee-owned company, meaning every employee is a partial owner of the company with a vested interest in customer satisfaction.

Headquartered in Exeter, New Hampshire, Palmer & Sicard delivers a full range of mechanical services to commercial, educational, municipal, industrial, and hospitality clients throughout New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northern Massachusetts.

In 2011, they launched a new Energy Services division to target emerging markets related to their existing scope of services. Already offering the total mechanical package, they identified a need in the green building and alternative energy markets for mechanical contracting services. Over the years, Palmer & Sicard accumulated experience working with different renewable and sustainable energy products and upgrading obsolete mechanical and HVAC systems for more energy-efficient ones.

“Becoming a Linc Service Contractor is an investment in the future of our company,” said Mark J. Hodsdon, President of Palmer & Sicard. “It provides us with a business model to grow and strengthen the service side of our business. Much like we have to invest in new equipment to perform our work, we also have to invest in new technologies that help us run our business more effectively. Securing this relationship with Linc Service and ABM will help us grow in the future and strengthen our bottom line.”
